\/>\nD\u014dz\u014d Jiz\u014d Bosatsu Zaz\u014d (Edo Roku Jiz\u014d no Hitotsu)<br \/>\nDesignated in 1921<br \/>\n\u3000According to a copy of the &#8220;printed book of the brief history of the erection of the statues of Edo Six a Jizoson,&#8221; which was dedicated inside the statues the origin of the Edo Six Jizoson is as follows, Jizo Monk Shogen who resided in Fukagawa, Edo, had been struck by incurable disease.  After praying with his parents for cure of the disease to <ruby>Jizo<rp>\uff08<\/rp><rt>K\u1e63itigarbh<\/rt><rp>\uff09<\/rp><\/ruby> Bosatsu, Shogen was healed.  After the fashion of six Jizo in Kyoto, a petition for the construction of statues of six Jizo was commenced in 1706 to collect public donations.  Then a statue of Jizo Bosatsu was erected at each of six locations in Edo.  The body and the lotus-shaped pedestal of each statue were incised with the names of solicitors and the year of construction.  The statues were vast by Caster Ota Suruganokami Fujiwara Shogi in Kandanabe town.  Anti-Buddhist movement at the beginning of Meiji period destroyed the sixth Jizo Bosatsu at Eidaiji Temple in Fukagawa.  Currently there are 5 remaining statues.<br \/>\n\u3000The statues of Jizo at kaishozan Honsenji Temple is the oldest among the six statues and was erected in 1708.  It is the largest among the remaining statues and its height id 275cm.
